THE BOLD AND THE FURIOUS
The events
during recent years have proved that the tension is rising all over Europe and
the globe. Economic crisis, migration flows, disappointment in democratically
elected representatives lays a perfect soil for the extreme-right movements to
grow. They offer quick solutions to solve rising problems, clearly identify
their enemies and are not willing to negotiate. Nevertheless the line between the
love for the homeland and aggressive hate towards anyone "different"
is very fragile. The festival program "The Bold and the Furious"
tries to analyze the rising right-wing movements, the reasons for their upraise
and foresee the possible consequences of
it.

FOR DIVERSITY, AGAINST DISCRIMINATION
Every year human rights film festival „Ad
Hoc: Inconvenient Films“ dedicate part of the program to the theme of equality of
persons, which is permanent film section of the festival. Racism, xenophobia,
discrimination of people with disabilities, homosexual people, and people of
different religion is a part of every-day life in many countries, Lithuania is
not an exception. With the support of the European Commission campaign “For
diversity. Against discrimination”, the 4th edition of the festival presents
nine films, which allow us to look at the reality of people, which is quite
different from our-own.

THE GREEN PROGRAM
"The Green program" is slowly becoming a permanent
section of the human rights film festival program. The impact of the humankind on
the climate change, reckless consumption, activities of international
corporations – all these questions affect the state of human rights all over
the world. The long lasting situation of natural resources inevitably leads to
conflicts, deprivation and violations of human rights. This year “Green program”
not only presents a wide overview on the situation of the Planet Earth, but
also suggests a few “good practices” that could help to reduce the impact of
approaching global catastrophe.

Financial
crisis put hundreds of thousands of people further below poverty lines. Poverty
remains an issued even within EU – every sixth EU resident does not have enough
