Welcome to the 4th edition of human rights film festival “Ad Hoc: Inconvenient Films”. The mission of this non-profit initiative is to raise awareness on human rights issues around the world and to connect them to those that are present in Lithuania. By presenting various documentaries on main human rights topics organizers hope to encourage public debates on human rights issues and ways to address them.
In spite of its non-profit character and thematic program “Ad Hoc: Inconvenient Films” can be considered as one of the biggest film festivals in the country and the largest documentary one. The festivals is proud that in 2008 and 2009 the yearly audience exceeded 12 000 viewers. These numbers exceed the general NGO and human rights activist crowd many times.
This year the festival opens October 21st in Vilnius, cinema SKALVIJA. The festival presents 7 different film programs, altogether encompassing 43 films. Besides screenings in Vilnius, part of the festivals’ program travels to Kaunas, Klaipėda and a few smaller cities of the country as every year in the framework of the travelling festival.
The organizers – Lithuanian Centre for Human Rights – would like to thank sponsors and partners, film makers and volunteers for invaluable support that helps to develop this non-profit project and ensure its accessibility for all.
